Zett – 1966 – Planetary Folklore Period
Buyers of this ‘Universe Damaged’ 1/1 artwork will be able to visit the Fondation Vasarely as a VIP guest and receive a private tour with dinner. What’s more, they will also have a physical plaque with their individual name on display within the museum.
ZETT was created in the ‘Planetary Folklore’ period, where Vasarely shared a vision of a future in which art, architecture and science would work to create a more interesting and equitable world. He created his ‘Plastic Alphabet’ which was a register of simple geometric forms embedded in squares of pure colour. These components or ‘units’ could be coded and programmed to be infinitely combined, creating art that could be mass produced in industrial materials and art that could be adopted by other artists as part of a universal visual vocabulary. This was a hugely pioneering method, at a time when these capacities were not yet offered by computers.
Proceeds from the sale of this NFT will benefit the repair of this installation at the Fondation Vasarely and the NFT will visually update to show the healing of its physical counterpart.
